Tocquigny Awarded High Scores on Regent University Report Card

Direct marketing campaign achieves tremendous success for online undergraduate program

AUSTIN, Texas — May 22, 2008 — Tocquigny, a leading interactive advertising agency that guides companies to winning business solutions for a digital age, today announces the firm conducted a highly effective direct marketing campaign for Regent University that exceeded aggressive enrollment goals with a 250 percent increase in recruits for the online undergraduate degree program. As a result, Regent more than doubled its 2007 budget and is launching an expanded campaign in 2008 titled “Education on Your Terms,” which focuses on the flexibility for students to earn a degree either online or on campus.

In 2007, Regent University engaged Tocquigny to develop a cost-effective approach to acquire new students for its online undergraduate degree program. At the time of the engagement, no major marketing efforts had been launched to promote the online program and the university had set aggressive enrollment growth goals for both the short and long term.

“Tocquigny established a new brand and messaging for Regent University’s online undergraduate program and developed an integrated online campaign to find and acquire a high volume of qualified student recruits at an efficient cost,” said Yvonne Tocquigny, CEO. “Based on our research into the motivations of students who pursue an online education, we centered the message on ‘Connecting with Your Dreams.’”

The campaign began last spring with search engine and database marketing. Rich media advertising was used to supplement the initiative and provide for increased user interactivity. Within six months of the launch, Regent University witnessed a 250 percent increase in online undergraduate recruits and a 30 percent increase in applications. The campaign simultaneously reduced the cost per acquisition by 75 percent.

Increased budgets for 2008 have already been implemented into an expanded campaign “Education on Your Terms” which focuses on the flexibility for students to earn a degree online or on campus. The theme now encompasses both online and offline media, allowing for national and regional radio advertisements. Further investment will cover larger creative budget for print advertisements and increased web analytics. Tocquigny also launched Regent University’s “Education on Your Terms” scholarship essay contest March 1, which provides students with an opportunity to submit essays and compete to win a free, full-ride scholarship.

We could not be more thrilled about the success Tocquigny has brought to our recruiting campaign, and I look forward to our continued collaboration,” said Tracy Stewart, Vice President of Information Technology at Regent University. “We are less than a month into our 2008 campaign, and initial metrics are on target to surpass the university’s enrollment and business goals.”
